Buck Gully Trail

CORONA DEL MAR

Activity: Day Hike

4.5 miles, 450’ elevation change, duration 2 hours, rated Easy

Date: 7-23-20

This is a nice little trail in the Corona Del Mar community. Single track with a little creek running through it with plush green vegetation and much of the hike is shaded. It is quite delightful and a hidden gem for those in the area.

Near the end of the trail is a fork. My app said to take the trail to the right. There is a trail, but it doesn’t go far nor does it go anywhere. If you go to the left it takes you up to San Joaquin Hills Rd which is another trailhead.

I retraced my tracks down from the San Joaquin Hills trailhead. Halfway back to the start of the trail is Bobcat Trail. I took Bobcat Trail which goes back up to that same San Joaquin Hills Rd. There is a vista there looking out towards the Pacific which also affords nice views of Newport Harbor. It added a couple miles on to my trip, doubled the elevation, and added another hour of trail time. All good things in my book.

Be one, like a reflection, be sure to balance yourself.

Thank for joining me on this lovely little hike in Corona Del Mar. They did a pretty good job of giving you the feel of nature. As is usually the case in SoCal, once you climb up out of the canyon to the ridge then you see all the humanity, but at the same time some nice views. It is all about finding some balance between the two and in your life. To continue along this journey of ‘Pursing Balance Through Adventure’: FOLLOW, LIKE, COMMENT and SHARE.
